Gancho helps you track job applications, research roles, reach the right people and tailor your resume. This page explains exactly what we store and why. The short version: your data is yours, it's private to your account, we don't sell it, and you can delete everything at any time.

What we store

Account: your name, email address and a salted hash of your password (we never store the password itself).
Your job search: the jobs you save (title, company, link, description, notes, stage history), resumes you upload (we keep the extracted text, not the file), tailored resumes, contacts you add or that Gancho finds for a job, message drafts and follow-up dates.
Sign-in sessions: a random session token, stored hashed, so you stay signed in.

How it's used

To show you your pipeline and keep it in sync between the web app, the iPhone app and the browser extension.
To generate research, fit scores, tailored resumes and message drafts. To do this, the relevant job details and your resume text are sent to Anthropic's Claude API, which processes them to return the result. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.
To research companies, pay and people, Gancho runs web searches about the job and company, never about you.
To send password-reset emails (through Resend), only when you ask for one.
To find and fix problems, the website records how its pages are used (page views, clicks and scrolling) with LogRocket. Everything you type, your resume, coach chats and message drafts are masked and never recorded.

What we don't do

No advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, no selling or sharing your data with anyone else.
Gancho never sends a message to anyone on your behalf. Drafts are yours to copy and send yourself.

People you research

When Gancho suggests people at a company, it only uses public professional information (name, role, public profile link) found on the web, and it only stores them inside your private account. It never collects their personal email addresses or phone numbers.

Storage and security

Data is stored in a private database, sent only over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and each account can only ever see its own data.

Deleting your data

Delete your account from Account → Delete account in the iPhone app. This permanently removes your account and everything in it (jobs, contacts, resumes and drafts) straight away. You can also delete individual jobs, contacts and resumes at any time.
